Hi Graham there was a programme on TV fairly recently about jar makers in Yorkshire and how kilner was the remaining factory after some had gone under .I think it has survivrd to present day .Wish I had paid more attention but like so many TV programmes I listen with half an ear! Best regards Dad

Just looked up the history (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilner_jar) – seems the original company got into a spot of trouble in 1937.
